Melanie Griffith, born Melanie Richards Griffith on August 9, 1957, is a film producer and actor. She is the daughter of actor Tippi Hedren and Peter Griffith, and the mother of Dakota Johnson. Griffith attended Hollywood Professional School, St. Cyril of Jerusalem Church and School, and received her education in acting from Stella Adler Studio of Acting.
Throughout her career, Griffith has received numerous awards, including Golden Globe Awards, Boston Society of Film Critics Awards, National Society of Film Critics Awards, and Razzie Awards. Some of her notable works are The Harrad Experiment and Something Wild.
