Maverick Space Systems

Maverick Space Systems is a California-based aerospace company that provides satellite deployment software, mission integration, and launch brokering services. The company was founded in February 2019 by Roland Coelho. Coelho serves as Maverick's CEO and is joined on the company's leadership team by COO Vidur Kaushish and CTO Austin Kruggel.

Maverick aids government and commercial customers in both the design and launch of nano- and micro-class satellites, commonly referred to as CubeSats, into orbit. On the design side, the company offers mission engineering services that include mission design, hardware development, analysis, and testing. Maverick advertises a collaborative design process and touts the ability to customize requirements to meet the needs of a customer's specific mission. Maverick also offers launch services, such as launch brokering, mission support, and technological integration. The company is able to broker launches with all major launch vehicle (LV) providers in the US, as well as internationally. Since 2019, the company has completed over thirty successful launch campaigns worldwide.

Maverick also designs several types of launch hardware to assist in satellite missions. The company has developed four CubeSat dispensers for launching satellites: the lightweight Mercury-3, Mercury-6, and Mercury-12 models and the ruggedized Maverick NLAS. All four dispensers are designed to accommodate rail-type CubeSats. Additionally, Maverick provides payload aggregation hardware in two forms. The company's Rideshare Payload Aggregation and Dedicated NLV Payload Stacks provide customized support for rideshare and NLV missions, respectively.

Maverick Space Systems has participated in one funding round since its inception. The company was awarded a $276,000 grant from the National Science Foundation on August 7, 2020.
