Marcellin Champagnat (born May 20, 1789, in Rosey, Saône-et-Loire, France) was a French priest who founded the Marist Brothers, a religious order dedicated to education. Champagnat was a citizen of France.
He primarily focused on education and spirituality throughout his life, eventually leading to the establishment of the Marist Brothers order. After years of service, he passed away on June 7, 1840, in Saint-Chamond, Loire, France.
