The 9-mm Makarov pistol (PM, Index GRAU - 56-A-125) is a Soviet self-loading pistol developed by Soviet designer Nikolai Fedorovich Makarov in 1948. Adopted in 1951. It is a personal weapon of attack and defense, designed to defeat the enemy at short distances, in the armed forces and law enforcement agencies, as well as one of the most popular pistols in the USSR and modern Russia.
