Mahatma Gandhi, born as Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi on October 2, 1869, was a politician, barrister, journalist, philosopher, writer, revolutionary, essayist, and newspaper editor. He was born in Porbandar State and held citizenship in British Raj and Dominion of India.
Gandhi was educated at Alfred High School in Rajkot, University College London (UCL), and Inner Temple. He was the founder of the Kasturba Gandhi National Memorial Trust and is best known for his notable work, Satyagraha.
He was the son of Karamchand Uttamchand Gandhi and had four children: Harilal Gandhi, Manilal Gandhi, Ramdas Gandhi, and Devdas Gandhi. Mahatma Gandhi passed away on January 30, 1948 at Gandhi Smriti.
