Magnus I, Duke of Saxe-Lauenburg, was born on January 1, 1470, in Ratzeburg. He was the second son of John V, Duke of Saxe-Lauenburg, and Dorothea of Brandenburg. Magnus I was a Duke of Saxe-Lauenburg from the House of Ascania and also a politician. He was a German national.
