MYMIC LLC will adapt and expand commercial technology previously developed. The technology is a computer app called Electronic Maintenance Equipment Checklist (eMEC) (https://appadvice.com/app/emec/1157621510). The eMEC App has been used by almost 80 customers since 2016 in North America to perform pre operations maintenance on mechanical equipment. We propose building on this success by researching an approach to deliver to the U.S. Air Force (USAF) a maintenance training capability that uses Augmented Reality (AR). eMEC currently provides equipment operators on-line access to their pre operations checklist, the capability to enter the results of those checks, and archives those results on a cloud server accessible to managers and maintenance personnel. Our proposed Augmented Reality Aerospace Ground Equipment or ARAGE tool will be developed for the Microsoft HoloLens, a tablet computer or other handheld devices screen that overlay relevant information needed to perform required maintenance functions onto the image of an actual piece of Aerospace Ground Equipment (AGE) as seen on the device from its camera. This visual display will show personnel where maintenance procedures are to be performed and provide access to the step by step instructions to accomplish it.
