Peng Lei, also known as Lucy Peng, is a businesses woman born in 2970 who is known for being a cofounder of the Alibaba Group.
Lei is on the 2016 Forbes China Rich List and is a billionaire based on her holdings of Alibaba Groups financial services arm, Ant Financial. She is one of 21 self-made female billionaires in China, and in 2016 she was named the worlds 35th most powerful woman in the world by Forbes on their list of Power Women.
Lucy Peng married Sun Tongyu in 1997 who went on to start a business with Jack Ma in Beijing which went on to become the Alibaba Group. In 1999 Lei quit her job and partnered with her husband and Jack Me to become one of the co-founders of Alibaba and head of the company's human resource department.
In 1994 Peng Lei graduated from the Hangzhou Institute of Commerce with a degree in business administration. After graduating from the Hangzhou Institute of Commerce she began teaching at the Zhejiang University of Finance and Economics for the next five years.
