British film director, producer and screenwriter
Lewis Gilbert (born 6 March 1920 in London, United Kingdom), was a British film director, screenwriter, film producer, and writer. He held citizenship in the United Kingdom and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland. Gilbert passed away on 23 February 2018 in Monaco.
He directed numerous movies throughout his career in the movie, cinematography, film industry, and filmmaking industries. Some notable films Gilbert directed include "You Only Live Twice", "Moonraker", and "Alfie". Additionally, he directed "The Spy Who Loved Me", "Educating Rita", and "Shirley Valentine".
