German jurist and academic
Levin Goldschmidt (born May 30, 1829, in Gdańsk, died July 16, 1897, in Prussia) was a German judge, jurist, and politician. He held German citizenship and was educated at several universities, including the University of Bonn, Heidelberg University, Frederick William University, and Martin Luther University of Halle-Wittenberg.
Goldschmidt had an impact on the lives of his students, including his doctoral student Max Weber, who went on to become a prominent figure in the field of sociology and economics.
