SBIR/STTR Award attributes
The overall goal of this effort is to support high-power SmallSats by maturing resilient thermal control technologies. Technologies include both Advanced Thermal Model (ATM) software and Resilient Thermal Control (RTC) hardware. The ATM software utilizes a reduced-order modeling (ROM) approach to greatly reduce thermal modeling overhead. New features will be added to the ATM software to enhance its utility and achieve resilient, high-power spacecraft design needs, such as: the ability to handle a broader range of ROM types, improved optimization routines, and user interface improvements. RTC hardware includes technologies that improve thermal performance through improved heat load sharing and greatly increased dissipation capabilities. RTC hardware will be developed and tested, in order to prove its validity for use on end-user applications.
