Kubernetes, also known as K8s, is an open-source system for automating the deployment, scaling, and management of containerized applications.
Kubernetes is estimated to be in use by up to or more than 50% of Fortune 500 companies. These companies include Capital One financial, Alphabet, BlackRock, Comcast, eBayeBay, Goldman Sachs, IBM, Nordstrom, Northwestern Mutual, Intuit and Starbucks. Usage of Kubernetes among Fortune 100 companies is around 54% in some form, and Docker is used at around 71% for Fortune 100 companies. There are an estimated 10,000 companies using Kubernetes worldwide.
