The beginning of the path in the crypto industry.
Kayla's path in design has been a tortuous one, and she's learned a lot along the way. In early 2020, she began her transition to UX/UI design with theater sets and props. For her, this transition made obvious sense. Both UX and theater design require a deep empathy and understanding of other people, as well as a penchant for wonder, curiosity, and beauty.
Work at present.
Kayla currently works as a UX/UI and branding designer for XYZ Technologies, a tech consulting company. The variety of projects she has worked on with XYZ has allowed her to expand her skills in new and different ways. She hilariously transformed Koii (formerly GoldFish) from a rough developer-designed product into a simple and engaging UX-optimized user interface to secure a spot in the Outlier Ventures accelerator and Koi's $50,000 seed funding.
The calling of the designer.
Kayla has a long and varied design history. Many of the skills I have acquired in other areas have directly influenced my work as a UX designer. Designer contributing ideas and strategizing/developing simple usability improvements can really change the acceptance and mindset of users.
