Proposal seeks to study and enhance thermo-mechanically coupled computational models for high-temperature impact and fracture of high-speed aerostructures. K&C is an established science and engineering company, founded in 1945, that specializes in developing engineered solutions for extreme environments through advanced computational models, experimental methodologies, and specialized software and physical products. K&C has teamed with Penn State University (PSU), which recently developed novel thermo-mechanical Meshfree computational methods for structures and materials undergoing extreme environments, including environments involving energetic blast, impact, and shock.
