John Carradine (1906-1988) was a character actor from the United States. He was born as Richmond Reed Carradine in New York City and educated at Episcopal Academy. Carradine's career primarily consisted of work in the Western genre. He was the father of actors David, Robert, and Keith Carradine.
Throughout his career, Carradine appeared in numerous notable works including 'Bright Lights', 'Tol'able David', 'Stagecoach', 'The Grapes of Wrath', 'The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance', 'The Ten Commandments', 'Bride of Frankenstein', 'The Shootist', and 'Peggy Sue Got Married'.
John Carradine passed away on November 27, 1988 in Milan.
