SBIR/STTR Award attributes
Innoflight has developed a preliminary version of a flexible, general-purpose flight computer known as the CFC-400 (a.k.a. CHAMPS). This computer is an excellent platform for many aerospace applications, including satellites, launch vehicles, and UAVs, among others. Innoflight has already delivered several CFC-400 units to multiple organizations. Two missions flying CFC-400s on four spacecraft are expected to launch in late 2019. Innoflight’s objectives under this STTP accelerated funding pilot are primarily geared toward advancing the CFC-400 TRL from 4/5 to 6/7 based on the following objectives: development of a modified version of the CFC-400 that uses the open VPX or VNX standard for reliable space operations; development of new daughter card types based on prototype testing, use case results, and interest from the space community; space qualification for a range of orbits (LEO, HEO, GEO) via radiation and environmental test programs; and advancements in the infrastructure software required for embedded cyber assurance implementation.
