DAF manages thousands of contracts for aircraft and parts but lacks a consistent method for surveillance of technical data deliveries and verification of data rights markings. DAF programs have a critical need for technical data with accurate rights markings to appropriately develop, support, and sustain weapon systems. Without this information DAF at a disadvantage, resulting in decision non-superiority, expensive sole source procurements, time-consuming intellectual property resolutions, and lifecycle supportability delays. Illumination Works offers DAF our Odin solution, an enabling technology that will improve productivity of DAF personnel by automating technical data delivery and data rights verifications. Odin uses intelligent data fusion techniques leveraging machine learning (ML) and natural language processing (NLP) to produce robust, richly formatted data of technical data deliverables and connected contractual obligations. This enriched data provides users with key insights to drive programmatic actions, such as requesting delivery of missing ordered data or requesting redelivery of inaccurately marked data to support lifecycle supportability of the weapon system. Overall, Odin provides a key capability in alignment with DAF’s Science & Technology strategy for rapid, effective decision-making by enabling programs with automated understanding and verification of their data deliveries and associated rights.
