Hubert de Givenchy was born on February 20, 1927, in Beauvais, France. He was a French designer, businessperson, and dressmaker known for creating the iconic Little black dress. Hubert de Givenchy was the founder of the high-fashion brand, Givenchy.

A citizen of France, Hubert de Givenchy was educated at the École nationale supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris. He was the child of Lucien Taffin de Givenchy and Béatrice Badin.

Throughout his career in the fashion industry, Hubert de Givenchy managed a fragrance brand called L'Interdit. He passed away on March 10, 2018, in Paris, France.
