The need for high-speed digital recording has been rapidly increasing world-wide, driven by the insatiable demand for streaming content. This becomes most challenging for applications that require wideband digitization of RF spectrum. Recording rates exceeding 100 Gbps with no loss of information are required by high sample-rate commercial devices, such digital-RF receivers. We propose to develop a new generation of portable, lightweight and rugged data recorders, building upon our prior experience with high-throughput continuous recording of data originating from our digital-RF receiver products. These will provide long, at least two hours, recording of uninterrupted a high-throughput data stream.
