During this proposed Phase II, Ghost Robotics will partner with the 75 Security Forces Squadron at Hill AFB to demonstrate a proof of concept of how the Quadrupedal Unmanned Ground Vehicle (Q-UGV) robots can be modified and engineered to negotiate steep hill inclines ranging from 45 degrees to as steep as 70 degrees through R&D improvements to the robot’s autonomy and mobility. This will enable the 75 SFS to proactively patrol steep and hazardous terrain it currently cannot reach, or are otherwise dangerous to deploy Defenders to. Ultimately this will keep Defenders away from unnecessary harm, provide a manpower additive back to the squadron, and automates hundreds of labor hours that can be re-allocated to other critical force protection activities.
