Company

The San Francisco based company was founded in 2016 by entrepreneurs Pascal Zuta and Stefan Behrens. Zuta previously launched what would become Germany’s largest doctor appointment booking company, Arzttermine.de and served as CEO of Aeria Games & Entertainment for six years. Behrens is a repeat entrepreneur in the digital consumer space, he spent almost a decade in strategy consulting driving large-scale transformation programs for international telco companies before working for Aeria Games until it was acquired by ProSiebenSat.1, Europe's leading media company. The pair previously founded Invincible Brands, a brand builder in the healthy living space.

Funding

GYANT participated in the Class 112 - Healthcare 2017 Q4 cohort of Techstars and raised an estimated $2,580,000. It has since raised $6.8M in Seed funding lead by Alpha Ventures and Grazia Equity in June 2018. In June 2019 it received a further $2.4M in an undisclosed round of funding lead by Grazia Equity.

COVID-19

In March 2020, Gyant launched a COVID-19 Emergency Response Assistant on its website and for hospital systems. The free assistant uses AI chat to check for COVID-19 symptoms and pertinent risk factors, then navigates patients to appropriate health system resources and care settings. The tool educates patients by providing general information on symptoms, prevention, and preparedness as well as answering common questions about COVID-19.
