We propose Muse Dev, a software quality platform that integrates multiple advanced static analysis tools into modern development platforms to help developers find bugs earlier and work more productively. Finding bugs early reduces the cost incurred to fix these errors and integrating into existing tools decreases developer friction and increases bug fix rates. This combination of advanced technology and developer-centric integration has been shown by Google and Facebook to increase developer productivity and decrease software defect rates. Muse Dev is bringing these same practices to the broader market, including DoD. Muse is a mature, financially-stable, and DoD-relevant offering. It delivers value to DoD in its current form and can be extended and customized to further address DoD-specific needs. In this Phase 1 project, we will continue discussions we have already initiated with potential AF customers and users. Once we have established good fit with at least one group at AF, we will develop a plan to: 1) pilot the Muse Dev technology with these users and 2) explore AF-specific customizations of the technology.
