Flourish Farm

Flourish Farm is a cricket farm company that harvests crickets for human and pet consumption. The company was founded in 2017, in Willston, Vermont.

The farm is the only one of its kind in Vermont, as the farm is raising crickets in a temperature-controlled space. The claim to harvest these crickets is because they are nutrient-dense and provide amino acids. Harvesting crickets requires a low amount of resources and emits almost zero greenhouse gases. Flourish Farm is able to raise hundreds of thousands of crickets at a time. The warehouse that the farm harvests in has fifty, eight-feet by four-feet containers, which can each hold 50,000 to 80,000 crickets, or 64 pounds of crickets. The crickets are all dehydrated and prepared for whole consumption, or to be grounded into the powder.

The company produces whole crickets as well as cricket powder on wholesale and retail levels. They also have the goal of educating consumers on how to utilize crickets within recipes. The idea of making the consumption of crickets is fueled by the farm's desire to provide a sustainable option for protein.
