Flex.io

Flex.io is a Chicago-based software company which allows users to quickly set up data feeds from APIs, databases and file systems, while controlling user permissions and source credentials. Data users receive on-demand, refreshable lookups and extracts using simple, familiar spreadsheet functions and automation. Flex.io also offers an add-on for Microsoft Excel 365 and Google Sheets.

Flex.io allows users to generate lists with integrations from services such as Hunter, FullContact, and Crunchbase and retrieve custom lists of data from CRMs like Intercom, Pipedrive and Hubspot. The service also allows users the ability to import extracts and lookups from their data systems including from file stores like Dropbox, Box, and S3 and enables users to broadcast that data to end users from master files in Google Sheets, Postgres or MySQL.

Users are enabled to create teams, manage users, set permissions, and limit the spreadsheet functions they distribute. This allows them to share functions with their team without sharing their credentials, protecting their database credentials, OAuth tokens and API keys.

Flex.io acts as a proxy between spreadsheets and external data sources. When an analyst uses a custom function, Flex.io verifies permissions, processes the request, and returns the result to the spreadsheet.
