Fishing is an oil painting by Annibale Carracci. It was created in Italy sometime between 1558 and 1588. The painting is currently held at the Louvre in Paris, France. Annibale Carracci was an influential baroque painter. The painting has a height of 1.36m and a width of 2.55m.
The painting was first owned by Prince Camillo Pamphili, but was gifted to Louis XIV in 1665. It stayed in the Collection of King Louis XIV and was moved to the King's apartment at Versailles in 1695 and to Cabinet des tableaux du roi in Paris, 1706 and 1709-1710. It was then housed at the Hôtel du Duc d'Antin in Paris from 1715-1736. The painting was housed at various locations in Versailles between 1760-1798. The painting was moved from Versailles to the Louvre in May 1798. Fishing was exhibited at the Central Museum of Arts (the Louvre) from 1801 on.
