Eleanor of Alburquerque (Leonor Urraca de Castilla) was born in 1374 in Aldeadávila de la Ribera. She was the daughter of Beatrice, Countess of Alburquerque, and Sancho Alfonso, the 1st Count of Alburquerque. Eleanor was a Spanish politician, queen consort, and regent known for being the Queen of Aragon.
Her marriage to Ferdinand I of Aragon resulted in several children, including Eleanor of Aragon, Queen of Portugal, John II of Aragon and Navarre, Alfonso V of Aragon, Maria of Aragon, Queen of Castile, Peter of Aragon, Count of Alburquerque, Henry, Duke of Villena, and Sancho of Aragon, Archbishop of Toledo.
Eleanor passed away on December 25, 1435, in Medina del Campo.
