Medical scientist, discoverer of vitamin c
Edward Mellanby (born 8 April 1884, West Hartlepool) was a renowned British biochemist and a citizen of the United Kingdom. He also held citizenship from the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland. Mellanby died on 30 January 1955.
Mellanby received his education from two prominent institutions. He attended Barnard Castle School before pursuing higher education at Emmanuel College, Cambridge. As a biochemist, Mellanby's work and contributions added significant value to the scientific community, and he is regarded as a notable figure in the history of biochemistry.
