SBIR/STTR Award attributes
The mission criticality of avionics and intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) systems calls for cyber protection that actively detects and mitigates firmware-level trojans in these systems. The HARVEST Sequential Phase II effort will create a cybersecurity solution that identifies and classifies cybersecurity threats and attacks in executable software on avionics and ISR systems. It will then determine the optimal available mitigation to address the detected vulnerability based on mission and cybersecurity parameters provided by cybersecurity engineering staff, and apply that mitigation. The system will provide feedback after detected events to improve future responses to similar threats or attacks. The HARVEST solution applies and extends a combination of SBIR and COTS technologies in the areas of machine learning, static and dynamic threat detection, response optimization, and threat mitigation. The result is a robust set of cybersecurity protections that eliminates vulnerabilities and detects and shuts down attacks to ensure that avionics and ISR systems missions are not compromised by cyber attacks.
