EValuation and Engineering of Resilient Space Technology (EVEREST) provides a modular and scalable toolset for mission design and analysis. Providing end-to-end Modeling, Simulation, and Analysis for the SDA’s mission life cycles, EVEREST will enable mission designers and decision makers to rapidly evaluate concepts using a high-fidelity automated mission evaluation capability, allow access for stakeholders and subject matter experts (SMEs), and provide access to a multi-platform digital engineering model of that will accelerate development of the mission. EVEREST will enable mission concept capture, synthesis and analysis, thus increasing the responsiveness of the NDSA. We leverage our digital engineering technology to develop the EVEREST mission design platform. This includes a responsive web-based user interface and experience (UI/UX) for intuitive interaction, a digital engineering and mission analysis backend, and development tools for accessing the mission design artifacts and developing new automatic mission analysis capabilities. The frontend will provide mission stakeholders and designers a simple user-friendly UI/UX to view and update components of the MBSE model, system requirements, simulation parameters, and analysis tools. Collaborative, agile design of the UI/UX with SDA stakeholders is a key feature of our approach. The backend is pre-populated with MBSE models based on the proposed layers of the NDSA generated by combining Emergent’s existing mission models and input from stakeholders. Emergent will leverage our COTS portfolio of digital engineering tools and our MBSE Experience in the development of EVEREST’s mission design capabilities. This includes Ascent, our tool for large-scale high-fidelity modular simulation of space systems, and Summit, our scalable tool for DevSecOps and Continuous Integration and Continuous Development. Ascent provides an Application Programming Interface (API) that enables modular integration with other simulation components or analysis tools. Summit allows for the deployment and orchestration of simulations based on Ascent (or other MS&A tools) and for the storage and processing of simulation results. Summit stores the simulation results, provides a modern frontend for stakeholders, provides an API for data access and integration with other systems, and allows simple integration with any type of analysis through modular containerized environments. The capabilities provided by EVEREST support agile investigation of constellation capabilities while also providing capabilities for high-fidelity simulation of spacecraft and networks with modular integration of flight software (FSW) and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) for the evaluation of system requirements. This will reduce the cost and schedule of developing and validating new systems for the NDSA.
