During his time in Toronto, Canada, he studied at Sunnybrook and Women's College Health Science Centre, focusing on minimally invasive surgery, colposcopic techniques, and emergency gynecology. These subjects were of particular interest to him.
Prior to becoming a gynecologist in 1997, he practiced family medicine in rural Manitoba and Alberta for four years. Having practiced gynecologic surgery for over 15 years, he has extensive experience with minimally invasive surgery.
For many years, Dr David Gerber has provided micro-surgical services for labia reduction surgery and precancerous vulva, vagina, and cervix conditions, and he has also developed a successful micro-surgical procedure for labia reduction surgery.
The labia minora (inner labia) can be reduced in size through labia reduction surgery. The most common reason for using this procedure is to repair a damaged or torn "labia majora" (outer labia) that is too large for a woman's body and is too large for her body. An asymmetry can also be corrected with this procedure in some cases. Labia reduction can be performed in the operating room using many different techniques.
There are many techniques for treating labia minora, which address a variety of issues, including excess skin, scarring, or asymmetry. There are several techniques for performing laser surgery, including suturing, stitching, and cutting. A labia reduction surgery uses local anesthesia to perform a minimally invasive procedure. Most women are able to return home the same day as the procedure, and it typically takes less than an hour to complete.
