British physicist
Dennis W. Sciama (born November 18, 1926, in Manchester and died December 18, 1999, in Oxford) was a British physicist. He was educated at the University of Cambridge and is best known for his contributions to the field of physics.
Sciama had a significant influence on several notable physicists as he served as the doctoral advisor to Tim Palmer, David Deutsch, Stephen Hawking, and Brandon Carter. His own doctoral advisor was Paul Dirac.
