Dennis Durkin started his career as a financial analyst for Alex. Brown and Company, working with high growth silicon valley technology companies. After receiving an MBA from HBS, Durkin soon made the change to corporate finance and took a position with Microsoft Corporation. During his nearly 13 years with the company, he spent nearly 7 years in Corporate Development and Strategy, including 2 years based in London leading pan-European activity. After his tenure in corporate development, Durkin moved into an operating role in Microsoft’s Interactive Entertainment Business (IEB), ultimately becoming Corporate Vice President as well as Chief Operating and Financial Officer of IEB, which included the Xbox Hardware, Xbox Live and Games Businesses. This was a natural lead up to his next role as Chief Financial Officer with Activision Blizzard (Ticker: ATVI), where Durkin helped grow the enterprise value of the company from less than $10bn when he started to more than $70bn at his retirement from the company in early 2021. Durkin currently sits on the Board of Directors for ON Holdings (Ticker: ONON), the Swiss footwear/sportswear company, and Oura health Oy, the makers of the OURA smart ring for sleep and health tracking.
