David Bohm (1917-1992) was a physicist, philosopher, and scientist from the United States, United Kingdom, and Brazil. He was born in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, and died in London, England.
Bohm studied at several institutions, including the University of Bristol, California Institute of Technology, and the University of California, Berkeley. He had a doctoral advisor, J. Robert Oppenheimer, and notable doctoral students such as Yakir Aharonov, David Pines, and Jeffrey Bub.
Throughout his life, Bohm was associated with key people including Albert Einstein, Jiddu Krishnamurti, and his spouse, Saral Bohm. He was known for his work on hidden variable theory in physics.
David Bohm was the author of several books on physics, philosophy, and creativity. Some of his works include "Quantum Theory," "Causality and Chance in Modern Physics," "Wholeness and the Implicate Order," "The Ending of Time," and "Science, Order, and Creativity".
Bohm was a fellow of the Royal Society and received the Elliott Cresson Medal in recognition of his contributions to the field of physics.
