Crypta Labs is developing ways to permanently close security holes in medical devices and instruments to improve patient safety and overall system control. The types of solutions they are providing can apply to security holes in over 68,000 critical medical systems in the US, from MRI machines to computer controlled pumps (pacemakers, insulin pumps etc.).

Conceptualised in 2014, Crypta Labs Ltd was incorporated in 2015 after the realizing the possibility of creating a true random number generator to create military grade encryption with the use of the camera on a mobile phone.Random number generators protect communication and are used in all connected devices to establish the secure encryption keys. For the Quantum Random Number Generation encryption module, Crypta Labs is harnessing the inherent randomness of light to generate true random numbers.

The company has a contract with the Ministry of Defence to move development past the proof of concept stage to product prototypes. Crypta Labs is supported by Defence and Security Accelerator formally known as the Minister of Defence's Centre for Defence Enterprise. The in-house technical team is headquartered nearby the Silicon Roundabout in London. Specialist advisors from the military, aerospace and research fellows in Quantum science are working together on the project.

Crypta Labs is patenting its technology and for necessary hardware and develop application program interfaces will partner with semi-conductor manufacturers through the in-house team and aims to deliver its true encryption to a worldwide marketplace.
