Abstract: Core Parts proposes to develop methods for estimating the size of a crack detected during Sonic Infrared Inspection (SIR). In the Phase I program, two approaches will be pursued; one based on additional IR image post-processing, and the other based on use of physics-based models seeded with results of the inspection thermal images. The proposed program will leverage earlier development by Florida Turbine Technology (FTT) in Defect Recognition Algorithms (DRAs), and Iowa State University’s (ISU) VibroSim modeling system. Core Parts has acquired low cost inspection technologies from Florida Turbine Technologies (FTT).
