Branch of zoology that consists of the study of crustaceans
Carcinologists study all types of crustaceans, a group of animals that includes crabs, shrimp, lobsters, crayfish, and barnacles. Crustaceans are part of a larger group of animals known as arthropods, which also includes things like insects, spiders, and millipedes. Crustaceans have some features in common with other arthropods, such as the presence of a hard, outer shell, called an exoskeleton, on the outside of their bodies.
