Until 2008 it was believed that only two types of Iguan - Brachylophus Fasciatus and Brachylophus Vitiensis live on Fiji. However, during genetic studies of mitochondrial DNA, 61 Oguan's individuals from 13 islands conducted by geneticists from the Australian National University, it was proved that Iguanians living on Fiji, genetically can be clearly divided into three separate views in the composition of the same genus . The new third view was called Brachylophus Bulabula. After further study of live instances of lizards, it was revealed that a new appearance appearance differs from 2 previous parts of the body color .
