Bloqboard is a non-custodial digital asset lending platform that is headquartered in San Francisco, California and was founded by Alex Bazhanau and Vitaly Bahachuk in April, 2018. Bloqboard uses the Ethereum blockchain to create, settle, service, and manage its digital asset loans. More specifically, the platform also allows users to make requests to borrow tokens, view outstanding loans, and gain access to peer-to-peer lending protocols to lend their tokens.
The Bloqboard platform is powered by two decentralized lending protocols called Dharma and Compound. These protocols allows Bloqboard users to borrow and lend funds directly from their cryptocurrency wallets. Notable wallets supported by Bloqboard include Metamask and Coinbase Wallet. The platform also supports the use of more wallets.
The Bloqboard team began making the Dharma protocol relayer prototype, which would eventually become Bloqboard, at the MIT Bitcoin Hackathon that was held in March, 2018. On April 26, 2018 Blogboard officially became the worlds first functioning debt relayer project in the world to be built on Dharma. Bloqboard provides liquidity to the Dharma ecosystem by connecting borrowers and lenders by creating a decentralized and non-custodial debt relayer marketplace.
On September 1, 2018 Bloqboard completed their first seed funding round. The company raised an undisclosed amount of funding from Polychain Capital.
