Overview
Bayezid I was born in 1360 in Edirne and was a citizen of the Ottoman Empire. He was the child of Murad I and Gülçiçek Hatun. Bayezid I had several children, including Mehmed I, Musa Çelebi, Mustafa Çelebi, Süleyman Çelebi, and İsa Çelebi.
In addition to being a ruler, Bayezid I was also a poet. He founded the Anadoluhisarı, an historical fortress located in present-day Turkey.
Bayezid I passed away on March 8, 1403, in Akşehir.
