Aznakaevo-(tat. Aznakai) is a city in the Republic of Tatarstan of Russia. The administrative center of Aznakaevsky district. The city of Aznakaevo forms a municipal formation with the status of an urban settlement as the only settlement in its composition. It is part of the polycentric Almetyevsk (Almetyevsk-Bugulma) agglomeration.
Aznakaevsky municipal district is located in the south-east of the Republic of Tatarstan. In natural terms, it is part of the forest-steppe zone of the Eastern Zakamye. The relief is an elevated plain. It is characterized by tiering, structurality and pronounced asymmetry of slopes. Located on the threshold of the Ural Mountains, on the Bugulmin plateau, the territory occupies the northeast of the Bugulminsko-Belebeevskaya upland (Chatyr-Tau Mountain - a landmark of the district - is an integral part of it.) and covers a section of the left bank of the wide Ik valley with the adjacent Iksko-Zainsky watershed.
The total length of the rivers within the district is 780 km . The largest are the rivers Ik, Styarle – state monuments of nature, and Mellya. At the same time, Ir is also the largest artery of the entire region. Originates in the Republic of Bashkortostan. The length within the district is 65 km . Its major tributaries are the Styarle (53.3 km long) and the Mellya (36 km).
The district borders Bakalinsky and Sharansky districts of Bashkortostan in the east, Sarmanovsky and Muslyumovsky in the north, Almetyevsky in the west and southwest, Bugulminsky in the south, and Yutazinsky districts of Tatarstan in the southeast.
It occupies the fifth place in terms of area after Almetyevsk, Laishevsky, Mamadyshsky and Nurlatsky districts.
Since 1918, after the proclamation of Soviet power, village Councils and volost executive committees were established on the territory of the district. Before 1920 they were part of Bugulminsky uyezd of Samara province and Menzelinsky Uyezd of Ufa province.
From 1920 to 1930, before the formation of the Tumutuk district in August, they were part of the Bugulma canton..
Aznakaevsky district was formed on 10/20/1931 .
It was abolished on 01.02.1963. The territory was transferred to the Almetyevsk district. In its composition, on 07.08.1963, the Aznakaevsky industrial district was formed.
The district was restored on 12.01.1965 .
The center of the district is Aznakaevo. A city of republican subordination. It is located on the Styarle River. The nearest railway stations (Ulyanovsk-Ufa line): Utaza at 34, Bugulma at 40 km. The distance to Kazan is 376 km . A road junction of inter-district significance.
It was founded in the first half of the 19th century. According to the contract, on July 1, 1743, the land was bought from the patrimonial owners for 30 rubles. The first official mention in the audit tales of 1762: there were 74 "audit souls" by the number of husbands. the population of the taxable estates. It is also indicated here that in 1747 there were 43 men from Aznakai in the foreman's team.

Since 03/20/1987, by Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the RSFSR, the working village of Aznakaevo has been classified as a city of republican subordination.
Industry
Aznakaevskaya Square is part of the Romashkinskoye oil field. Industrial oil was obtained in October 1950 . On August 7, 1951, the Aznakaevsky Drilling Office was established to drill the area. Planned production began on 11/20/1951 . Since that time, a course has been taken for the industrialization of the district. The development of industry has led to the growth and development of the district, radical transformations in the life of the population of the district.
