Augustine of Hippo

Augustine of Hippo, also known as Saint Augustine or St. Augustine, was a philosopher, writer, preacher, historian, presbyter, and poet. He was born on November 13, 354, in Thagaste and held citizenship in Ancient Rome. Augustine died on August 28, 430, in Hippo Regius.

Augustine was the son of Saint Monica. His notable works include 'The City of God (book)', 'Confessions (Augustine)', and 'On the Trinity'. As a key figure in early Christianity, Augustine's writings played a crucial role in the development of Western philosophy and Christian theology.
