Atia (mother of Augustus) was born in Rome in 86 BC, and she was the daughter of Marcus Atius and Julia Minor (sister of Caesar). She was a citizen of Ancient Rome.
Atia was the mother of two notable figures in Roman history: Augustus and Octavia the Younger. As the child of Marcus Atius, she held a strong lineage which contributed to her children's prominent positions in society.
She died in Rome on January 1, 42 BC.
