American theologian
Archibald Alexander was born on April 17, 1772, in Rockbridge County, Virginia. He was a citizen of the United States and studied at Washington and Lee University. Alexander was a writer and minister and became the founder of Princeton Theological Seminary.
He had four children: Joseph Addison Alexander, Henry P. Alexander, James Waddel Alexander, and William Cowper Alexander. Joseph and William followed in their father's footsteps; both were fathered by Archibald Alexander.
Archibald Alexander passed away on October 22, 1851, in Princeton Township, New Jersey.
