Laureate of the State Prize (1988), awarded the Francysk Skaryna Medal (1996). He was awarded the Order of St. Sergius of Radonezh. For his military services, he was awarded the Orders of the Patriotic War II degree, medals.Author of works on the history of the Belarusian language:
