Overview
Amadou Bamba was a poet and the founder of Mouride , a Senegalese religious movement. He was born in Senegal and held citizenship of the country . After his death in Diourbel on July 19, 1927 , his legacy continued through the teachings and practices of the Mouride brotherhood.
