Alexander Amfiteatrov

Alexander Amfiteatrov (26 December 1862 - 26 February 1938) was a Russian writer born in Kaluga. He held citizenship in the Russian Empire and had various occupations, including playwright, novelist, historian, writer, and journalist. Amfiteatrov was educated at Moscow State University.

Throughout his career, Amfiteatrov used multiple pseudonyms, such as "Московский Фауст", "Old Gentleman", and "Московский Фауст". Alexander Amfiteatrov had two children, Daniele Amfitheatrof and Massimo Amfiteatrof. He was the father of Massimo Amfiteatrof.

Amfiteatrov passed away on 26 February 1938 in Levanto, Liguria.
