Adolf, Duke of Holstein-Gottorp

Adolf, Duke of Holstein-Gottorp was born on January 25, 1526, in Germany. He was the third son of King Frederick I of Denmark and his second wife, Sophie of Pomerania. He was a member of the House of Oldenburg and the first Duke of Holstein-Gottorp from this line.
