Acuity Knowledge Partners is a global research and analytics firm headquartered in London. It provides knowledge-based services, high-value research, analytics and business intelligence services to the financial services sector.
The company serves over 300 financial institutions and consulting companies through its global delivery centers in China, Costa Rica, India and Sri Lanka. It has over 2,600 employees across global locations.
The company was founded in 2002 as Copal Partners to support the corporate finance department of leading investment banks. It opened its first office in Delhi, India. In 2006-2007, Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Citigroup and Deutsche Bank became minority shareholders in the company.
In 2008, Copal Partners acquired exëvo, a market research company.
In late 2011, Moody's Corporation - a NYSE listed credit rating and financial information company, acquired a majority stake in Copal Partners
In December 2013, Moody’s Corporation acquired Amba Research (operating it as part of its Moody’s Analytics subsidiary) and Copal Partners and named the combined entity Copal Amba.
Moody’s Corporation re-branded Copal Amba to Moody's Analytics Knowledge Services in 2016.
In November 2019, Moody’s Analytics Knowledge Services re-branded as Acuity Knowledge Partners (Acuity) following the completion of its management buyout from Moody’s Corporation, supported by European mid-market private equity investor Equistone Partners Europe.
