Action Potential Venture Capital is a venture capital firm in Massachusetts that focuses on investing in bioelectronic medicine and technology companies. Action Potential Venture Capital (APVC) Limited is a new $50 million strategic venture capital fund backed by GlaxoSmithKline. The fund’s first investment was in SetPoint Medical, a California company considered a trailblazer in creating implantable devices to treat inflammatory diseases. The fund complements the work of GSK’s Bioelectronics R&D unit, which was established in 2012 after a two-year effort to seek out and engage the most promising researchers in this emerging area of science. Its portfolio companies include CVRx, Cala Health, NeuSpera Medical, SetPoint Medical, and Saluda Medical. As of March 2020, Action Potential Venture Capital has made nine investments.
