Since the company's founding in September 2012, Abside has developed multiple generations of LTE communications systems. The company aims to supply private wireless network equipment specializing in non-3GPP frequencies. Abside began with specialized designs of custom RF front-ends for 4G LTE base stations for businesses deploying public networks. The company went on to develop its own end-to-end product lines, targeting private networks with non-3GPP 4G LTE and 5G products.

Abside Networks offers a suite of 5G and 4G LTE hardware products to businesses in need of private wireless network infrastructure systems. Notably, the company has developed the following:

  • Three generations of stratospheric 4G base-station hardware for Google Loon (a project since discontinued by Alphabet).
  • A tri-band 4G RAN (radio access network) and user equipment product line for the US Government in the corresponding frequency bands (non-3GPP).
  • A 5G RAN Massive MIMO (multiple input, multiple output) product line targeting US and NATO governments.

Trident RAN Radio Unit

Trident RAN Radio Unit

Trident T8 5G n79 Radio Unit (RU) is a massive MIMO 3D steerable active array unit (AAU) supporting the 5G waveform across all 600 MHz of the 5G NR n79 spectrum (4400 MHz through 5000 MHz) from a single unit / SKU. The Trident T8 n79 array implements fully digital beamforming, which enables both massive MIMO 5G operation and 3D beamforming.

Trident RAN

Trident RAN uses vRAN Technology capable of scaling on edge virtualized platforms and providing the centralized

unit (CU) and distributed unit (DU) functions. This product offers an extensive set of the 5G NR (new radio) specifications. Multiple Trident RAN units can be managed by the Trident RIC—a RAN controller with active interference detection and mitigation using multidimensional space-frequency optimization to maintain connection and traffic flow speed.

Bastion Remote Radio Head

Bastion Remote Radio Head

Bastion Remote Radio Head

The Bastion Remote Radio Head (BRRH) is the transmitting and receiving base station radio unit of the Vauban LTE Communication System. According to Abside Networks, the BRRH is the world's first NTIA (National Telecommunications and Information Administration) tri-band solution covering 760 MHz of spectrum in a single radio unit, with a frequency coverage of 16 NTIA bands. The BRRH features a power and digital connection directly to the Bastion Processing Unit (BPU) and an integrated all-band sector antenna. No RF cabling is required during deployment.

Narthex Security Suite

The Narthex Security Suite supports multiple Layer-2 networks over the LTE network. Each of these networks hosts a Security Termination Point connected to Abside's Core Network and security clients embedded in the Ravelin UEs. The Security Suite features FIPS 140-2 AES 256 encryption, multi-factor authentication, over-the-air rekeying, LAN device identification, and a web-based interface.

High Altitude Platform Solution

Abside's High Altitude Platform Solution (HAPS) is a complete LTE eNodeB that includes both the RRH (remote radio head) and BBU (baseband unit) and the antenna unit in a single unit called a basket. According to Abside Networks, HAPS has served over 500,000 users in tandem with Google Loon.
